This study was conducted to examine and identify the protozoan parasites associated with different water sources in Lokoja metropolis. A total of 600 water samples were collected, from Tap, Borehole, well and River waters for six month between February, 2018 and July, 2018 these samples were collected from five different locations namely; Lokongoma, Meme Bridge, Adankolo, kpata and Old Market in Lokoja, Kogi state, Nigeria. Lugol's iodine was used to stain the parasites, using colouration to show parasitic features, 9 protozoan parasites were recovered from Well and River water source while no parasite was recorded for Tap and Borehole water sources.Entamoebahistolytica was observed to be the most prevalent protozoan parasite (49.8%) followed by Cocccidia species (21.3%) Opalina species (11.6%), Balantidium coli (10.7%), Chilomastixmesnili and Giardia species (2.2%), Neigleriaspecies (1.3%) while Amphileptusspecies andChillodonella species had the least occurrence.............

Nightjars are medium sized nocturnal or crepuscular birds belongs to the family Caprimulgidae, characterized by long wings, short legs and very short bills. From 98 species of nightjars in the world, the true nightjar species belongs to Caprimulgidae is 38. These nightjar species are distributed in Afghanistan, Iran, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. These birds are difficult to locate and identify due to well camouflage of body coloration with the habitat. This species found to lay 1-3 eggs on an open land camouflaged with the habitat. To keep them in the camouflage is the principal defense mechanism. Nightjars are insectivores, prefers moths (Lepidoptera). They produce typical chirping (chik..chik..). These birds are one of least studied in the world hence present work is intended to find out Indian Nightjar,Caprimulgus asiaticus with respect to its habitat use and breeding biology.

Surface treatment is technically and economically advantage method which aimed at improving the surface of materials. This study involve the comparative analysis between the extrusion steel mouldswere coated with nitriding and ceramic coating. The AISI2344 steel was heatedat 520 0C withammonia gas (NH3)and the diffusion temperature was kept at 520 °Cfor 360 minutes, followed by cooling at 80 °C and remaining about120 minutes. Finally its completed nitrided process. Ceramic coating process also was performed PVD methodwith chromium nitride (CrN). Its performed 7-10 micron multi layer thickness. The microstructure, elemental composition, hardness and surface rougness analysis was performedfor all samples. Its obtained that microstructure is a nonuniform with nitriding in the SEM analysis. The hardness value was obtained 918 HV0.2 for sample with nitriding. This value was obtained 357 HV1 for sample with ceramic coating. Also the surface rougness has a lower Ra value for ceramic coating. When this Ra value is respectively 0.051 μm and 1.481 μm for ceramic coating and nitriding.

The aim of this work is to simulate the elastic properties of 3D printed plastic rods using the Fused Deposition Modeling method (FDM). The plastic material PETG was used to 3D print the plastic rods according to the norm DIN EN ISO 527-2 Typ 1A. Different infill percentages were tested on the plastics rods in order to know their influence on the elastic properties. Tensile tests were conducted on the plastics rods based on the standard EN ISO 527-2, to obtain the stress-strain-curve of all the samples. It was observed that the Young´s Modulus of the printed rods increases linearly with the increase of the infill percentage. The software ANSYS together with the plugin Material-Designer was used to predict the elastic properties of the printed samples. Material-Designer uses RVE (Representative elementary volume), where it requires the creation of a geometry as well as the definition of the material properties. The RVE is exposed to several load cases and the homogenized data is computed from the results of the analysis. A correlation between the Young´s Modulus of the printed rods and the simulated RVE Young´s Modulus is found.

Abstract       pdf Full text PDF
Index: 10.183x/E09052532 aned
Aluminium metal is an energy-storing metal due to its ability to be recycled with a wide range of uses. Also aluminium is a relatively light metal with a specific density of 2.7 g/cm3 compared to metals such as steel, nickel, brass, and copper. It is aimed to obtain of the alumina material from the dross by chemical methods. There is a certain amount of aluminium material in the dross formed in the liquid metal surface during melting process. Dross which is called 'semi-product' contain metallic aluminium (Al) and alumina (Al2O3). Aluminium dross is a mixture of free metal and non metal substances such as aluminium oxide and salts. Dross revulation machine was designed with diffent model within the scope of the study. Optimal design which was obtained lower amount of metallic aluminium and alumina was decided. Then experimental process was performed after machine design. The alumina (Al2O3) synthesize from dross by using chemical method with certain temperature, pressure and time. The dross was treated with 30% NaOH at 185 ° C for 2 hours under 4-5 Atm pressure. It was performed chemical analysis tests of recycled dross. Also the analysis was performed for determination ɣ-Al2O3.

The Science Information Network (SINET) is a Japanese academic backbone network for more than 800 universities and research institutions. In the operation of huge academic backbone network, more flexible querying technology is required to cope with massive time series session data and analysis of sophisticated cyber attacks. In this paper, we propose a C++ implementation of DSEL (Domain Specific Embedded Language) for time series data using type erasure. Our method can achieve the efficiency and flexibility is required for complex intrusion detection tasks in huge academic backbone network. In our model, function object is implemented by type erasure for constructing internal DSL for processing time series data. Type erasure enables our parser to store function pointer and function object into the same *void type with class templates........
